From then on, all roads led to the goal: Beate Rygiert earned her master's degree in theater studies, musicology and Italian literature in Munich and Florence, and studied film at the New York Film Academy.

From then on, all roads led to the goal: Beate Rygiert earned her master's degree in theater studies, musicology and Italian literature in Munich and Florence, and studied film at the New York Film Academy.

Since then, she has written bestselling novels, short stories, biographies and screenplays. Her publications under Beate Rygiert and Tabea Bach have reached a circulation of millions and have been translated into 15 languages. She has received the Corine International Book Prize, the Würth Literature Prize, and the Thomas Strittmatter Screenplay Prize, among others, for her work. In addition to writing, she devotes herself to painting and music. Since 2004, Beate Rygiert has been involved in the fight against the HIV virus in Uganda.
