Harriet comes to Germany in 1991 with her Ghanaian husband. She is full of hope for an even better life. But soon she has to flee from her husband's violence. Although she worked as a programmer in her home country, she only finds work as a toilet attendant. A reason to give up? Never ever! With iron will and humor, Harriet manages to get back on her feet and realize an old dream: she always wanted to help the children in the slums of Akkra. On September 15, 2002, Harriet founded the AFRICAN ANGEL e.V. association. In her book, she tells of her childhood in Akkra and how she managed to perform a miracle with 50 cents.
